Seasonal Service
Spring Equipment Prep
Get your heavy equipment inspected, repaired, and ready for the busy season. Mobile service across all of Vancouver Island.
Don't Wait for a Breakdown
Vancouver Island's logging, mining, and construction seasons kick into high gear every spring. Equipment that has been sitting through the wet winter months needs a thorough inspection before it goes back to work. Small cracks become catastrophic failures under load. Worn hydraulic lines blow at the worst possible time. Corroded pins and bushings seize up.
A spring inspection from T & C Fabrication catches these problems while they are cheap and easy to fix — before they sideline your machine on a remote job site and cost you thousands in lost production and emergency repairs.
We offer on-site inspections and repairs across Vancouver Island. Our mobile welding rig comes to your yard, your shop, or your job site. No need to transport heavy equipment — we come to you.
Spring Inspection Checklist
Here is what we check during a spring equipment inspection:
Frame & Structural Welds
Inspect for fatigue cracks in frames, booms, arms, and structural joints. Small cracks propagate quickly under load.
Hydraulic Lines & Fittings
Check all hydraulic hoses for cracking, bulging, and chafe marks. Inspect fittings for leaks. Replace any suspect lines before they blow.
Boom & Arm Condition
Look for cracks at stress risers, pin bosses, and weld joints on excavator booms and loader arms. NDT inspection for critical areas.
Bucket Teeth & Cutting Edges
Inspect bucket teeth for wear and replace any that are past half-life. Check cutting edges and replace or build up with hardfacing.
Pins & Bushings
Check all pivot pins and bushings for wear. Excessive play means accelerated wear on connected components and reduced machine efficiency.
Wear Plates & Skid Plates
Inspect all wear plates on conveyors, chutes, and hoppers. Check belly pans and skid plates on forestry machines for holes and thin spots.
Track & Undercarriage
Measure track tension, roller condition, and idler wear. Check track pads for damage. Undercarriage replacement is expensive — catching wear early saves thousands.
Guards & Safety Equipment
Verify all guards, ROPS/FOPS structures, and safety equipment are intact and properly secured. Repair or replace any damaged safety components.
